Something I love

As a photographer there are lots and lots of things I want. My wish list is miles long:) It’s easy for me to be tempted to spend money on stuff I want but if I think hard I probably can live without it. I just want to mention something I actually think is well worth the small investment and that I’m not sure i can live without:) It’s my camera strap. It’s from a company called phat straps. They have a huge variety of handmade straps and they come in so many different fabrics and colors. I got mine a while ago and they don’t have the one I chose any longer, but if I was going to get another one I think I would have picked this one:

Or maybe I would have picked this one?
I love this one too:
Aren’t they cute? (The pictures are from their website and are not taken by me but I got permission to use them). What I love about it besides the fun fabrics is that it is so soft and comfortable. If you are looking for a cute and comfortable camera strap you should check out phat straps.

    Cute! I want one!

Ok, so now I’m tempted. I’m always complaining about how heavy the camera gets and how uncomfortable the strap is. I’m kinda partial to the first one on the page :-)

You guys should get one!!! They are so cute and I love all the different patterns you can pick from.

{Downtown session} Birmingham, Alabama child photographer

I guess since it’s been so pretty and green this summer I haven’t gotten any requests for downtown sessions in a long time. I love shooting downtown so I decided to take my little girl there and get in a few shots before our summer at home was completely over. She’s really getting so much easier to shoot than she was 6 months ago and for a few gummy bears I got some really great pictures of her. I actually had to be super silly and pretend that I was going to eat the gummy bears I had give her. She kept laughing and saying she already had eaten them….I will do whatever it takes to get some cute smiles from her:) It’s still very hot here and these were taken at 1pm on a 100 degree day…I knew we only had about 15 minutes max to get the job done before it became waaaay to hot. Sorry for the picture overload but didn’t she do awesome?

I love this one so much I had to make it the header of my blog. She wanted to lay down herself and I just snapped.

She was really interested in the parking meeter and she kept trying to reach the top to put money in.

These are the shots were the gummy bears was used…it was so worth a total of 5 of them. I would gladly have provided 10 of them for these. She harly ever get any candy so it’s such a treat for her.

One of my favorites of her.

I love this one too.

{My little girl} Birmingham, Alabama child photographer

My little girl got this new dress last week and I just thought she looked so cute in it. I asked if I could take some pictures of her and she said yes which was a nice surprise to the no I normally get. It was really hot…heat index said 114 degrees…so we only stayed outside for about 15 minutes which included our walking time. I can’t believe how well she did. She gave me eye contact and did not complain at all. I love when our photo shoot is a success.

Got to love her serious look.
My happy girl.

I brought these little lantern which I really wanted to hang around her but since it was so hot I didn’t have time to plan it out any better. She thought they were interesting though.

She wanted to show me how high she could jump. The grass was so high that I couldn’t hardly see that she jumped but she thought she jumped sooo high.

{Sneak Peak} Birmingham, Alabama child photographer

I got to have a session with Emma this past Friday. Emma turned 2 in May and we had to get some delayed birthday shots of her. I have know Emma’s family for years and I love this little girl!! She and my little girl loves to get together and play and I was so excited when her mom asked me to take her pictures. I think she’s just so cute and has such an innocent look. She’s not the easiest subject I have photographed and her mom and I had to work really really hard for our pictures…I guess that’s how it should be when photographing 2 year olds:)
Anyway, here’s some of the pictures I love from the session. I hope you like themas much as I do.

I always have to include a movement shot because I love those of children. I love how she’s twirling around for me. It’s the perfect way of capturing childhood.

My little girl went location scouting with me for a few minutes today for my session tomorrow. Don’t you think this location will be perfect for my shoot tomorrow? I think it will be beautiful.
